Many of you know that I have been looking for the Texas equivalent of California's "Two Buck Chuck", well I haven’t found the "two Buck" part, but I did find a great award winning wine for five dollars and some change, Barefoot Wines from California.

Tonight I am trying the Barefoot Merlot, and I must say, rather tasty!  The merlot opens lightly sweet, while on the pallet it is rather indiscriminate, yet the finish is bursting with cherry, and hints of clove, with a slight dry after hint - a rather impressive wine for under six dollars.

This weekend I will test this California challenger's Brut Curvee Chardonnay Champagne upon my friends, I'll let you know how it come about!
